Who We Are
RESA.HOMES is a regional alliance site (https://resa.homes) connecting homeowners, realtors, and estate liquidators in Southeastern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. We exist to provide resources, referrals, and educational content. While we are not a brokerage or liquidation company ourselves, we collaborate with trusted partners to help families and professionals navigate real estate and estate transitions.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information entered into the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. After your comment is approved, your Gravatar profile picture may be visible publicly next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please remove any embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to download and extract location data from publicly uploaded images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last one year.
- A temporary cookie is set when visiting our login page to check browser compatibility; it is discarded when you close your browser.
- Login cookies last two days; screen preference cookies last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out clears login cookies.
- Editing or publishing an article will place a cookie in your browser. This contains no personal data and simply references the post ID, expiring after one day.
Embedded Content
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the external site directly, which may collect data, use cookies, or track your interaction.
Who We Share Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Otherwise, we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Data Retention
- Comments and related metadata are stored indefinitely, so follow-up comments can be recognized automatically.
- For registered users, we store the personal details provided in your profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (except usernames). Administrators may also access and edit this data.
Your Rights
If you have an account or have left comments, you may request:
- An exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
- Erasure of any personal data we hold, except for data required for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
Where Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
